MISA yogi leader Gregorian Bivolaru, wanted by Interpol, was taken on remand by the Romanian Police in France on Friday, Antena 3 reports. He had false IDs.

He was detained on Friday morning while he was attending the Champerret Rarity Fair in a district in Northern Paris. He has been taken into custody awaiting extradition, according to sources quoted by France Info.

His arrest has come up three years after the Sibiu Court had issued an all-points bulletin on his name.

It seems that Bivolaru has been in France for quite some time. He had previously obtained political asylum in Sweden.

Gregorian Bivolaru, a yoga instructor, founder of MISA, the Movement for the Spiritual Integration in Absolute fled Romania in 2005 after being prosecuted for human trafficking and organized crime. He fled to Sweden, where he filed a request for political asylum, a request granted in 2005. The Romanian Supreme Court sentenced Bivolaru to 6 years in prison in 2013 for sexual acts with a minor.

He changed his name to “Magnus Aurolsson” in 2006 and he has been allegedly teaching yoga classes in several countries since 2010.

At the end if January this year, the European Network of Fugitive Active Search Teams (ENFAST) rejoining a police officer network from the 28 EU member states launched www.eumostwanted.eu website, with the EUROPOL’s support, which targeted to track down the most-wanted fugitives in Europe. Gregorian Bivolaru, 63 was among the most-wanted fugitives from Romania.
