Financial abuse or economic abuse is often part of an overall pattern of coercive control, and many times people do not realise that this is happening to them. Because of feelings of shame and hopelessness about financial difficulties, they may not ask for help. This event will feature experts in the field of financial abuse and coercive control and is designed to allow people to gain information that may be of practical benefit to themselves and people they may know who are being financially abused. It will cover financial or economic abuse in relationships, families, coercive groups or cults and also in trafficking.
