CovComDocs is a collection of documents, articles and newspaper reports that describe the troubles Covenant Communities have experienced, from the 1970s to the present. Sometimes additional materials are added that describe different aspects of Charismatic Renewal. All Covenant Communities are Charismatic. Members have received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues, or prophesy, or engage in deliverance ministries. CovComDocs attempts to be a resource to past and present members of Covenant Communities, because leaders have never shared the problems of other communities with current members.
Covenant Community: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly is a public group where former members gather to recount their experiences with in Covenant Community. Some of those experiences were good, some were bad, and some were downright ugly.
The group is a place for former members to work through their experiences with other former members. Occasionally, present day members of the SOS and other communities will also join this group. Often, they try to say that the communities have changed. In some ways the communities have changed. But when asked to forward documentation of these changes, nothing formal has ever been produced. In fact, most CovComs keep their teachings behind a firewall, only accessible to members.
There were three major groupings of Covenant Communities in America: People of Praise, Sword of the Spirit and International Brotherhood of Covenant Communities.
