Learn more about the upcoming indie film about four sisters born and raised in a cult and their fight to escape --

Beyond the Fence Weekend Newsletter Feature:

Beyond the Fence is an hour-and-a-half coming-of-age drama about four sisters who fight to escape the violent cult they were raised in. The script won the 2023 Virginia Screenwriting competition, and the producing team has worked on numerous acclaimed projects, including Academy-award nominated "Rustin" (2023). Beyond the Fence is an unapologetically feminist coming-of-age tragedy depicting the gruesome reality of gender-based violence to raise awareness and demand change. It's a subtle, slow-burning response to recent cultural conversations on the female experience. The script embraces realism, in all its grit, grime, and gore. We follow four girls, at various stages of adolescence, living in a male-led, high-control environment. The characters are thrust into situations of domestic abuse, sexual violence, coercion, confrontation, and armed conflict. Beyond the Fence is a story about sisterhood, family, loss, survival, death, and sacrifice.
