In just about 100 pages, the new book details:

- How to recognize the symptoms of subjugation trauma - the impact of coercive control and narcissistic abuse;

- How to identify the 8 behaviors of the traumatizing narcissist that cause subjugation trauma in victims;

- How to understand the psychology of the traumatizing narcissist and the developmental conditions that form the traumatizing narcissist's personality;

- How to understand and heal the self-alienation and fragmentation that is the result of narcissistic abuse.

The book is available on Amazon or at the Routledge site - I hope you will find it to be an important addition to your library.

Parliament of Victoria: Inquiry into the recruitment methods and impacts of cults and organized fringe groups

Here is a summary of the Parliament of Victoria’s inquiry into cults and organized fringe groups:

The Parliament of Victoria’s Legislative Assembly Legal and Social Issues Committee is currently conducting a comprehensive inquiry into the recruitment methods and impacts of cults and organized fringe groups. The inquiry aims to protect individuals from harm by examining the tactics these high-control groups use to manipulate, recruit, and control their members.

A central premise of the inquiry is defining cults and fringe groups by their harmful behaviors rather than their ideologies or spiritual beliefs. The Committee is specifically investigating patterns of coercive control. This includes tactics like isolating individuals from their friends and family, suppressing individuality, using fear or guilt to demand total obedience, and perpetuating financial, psychological, physical, or sexual abuse. The inquiry seeks to determine whether Victoria’s current legal frameworks are strong enough to address these manipulative practices and protect vulnerable people.

To gather evidence, the Committee has utilized a multi-faceted approach. An anonymous public questionnaire yielded 317 responses, allowing individuals with lived experiences to share insights into the recruitment tactics and ongoing trauma associated with coercive groups. In addition to the questionnaire, the inquiry has accepted formal submissions and held numerous public hearings featuring testimonies from survivors, advocacy organizations, university experts, and international cult awareness groups.

The inquiry carefully distinguishes harmful high-control groups from unfamiliar but benign minor religions, ensuring the focus remains squarely on behavioral abuses and stopping potential harm. The Committee is currently compiling its findings and intends to present its final report and recommendations to the Parliament by September 30, 2026, aiming to propose solutions to better support victims and regulate coercive fringe groups.

Education

This three-part pilot program aims to create opportunities to foster community and mutual support among a diverse spectrum of IRG disaffiliates (individuals who have disaffiliated from an insular religious group). We also hope to create opportunities for increased collaboration that can drive positive change for IRG disaffiliates.

Each session includes a group of participating IRG disaffiliates and is dedicated to a specific topic of discussion, as follows:

Session 2:  How has my disaffiliation story shaped who I am today?

(Monday, September 7 @ 6:30-8:30 pm EST)

Session 3: Looking Toward the Future: My Future and the Future of IRG Disaffiliates

(Monday, October 5 @ 6:30-8:30 pm EST)

1-2 professional facilitators, who are also IRG disaffiliates, will lead the sessions. We will convene all participants together for the first 10 minutes, during which the facilitators will introduce the topic and explain the structure for the breakout discussions. Participants will then choose one of 2-3 breakout rooms for further discussion. Then, the group will reconvene for a closing discussion.

We strongly encourage individuals interested in participating to attend all three sessions. Because of limited capacity and our emphasis on developing deep connections among IRG disaffiliates, we will prioritize those who can attend all sessions (see the dates and times above next to topics). Diversity in IRG disaffiliate backgrounds will also be given strong consideration.

Daily News Hungary: Mysterious cult behind Hungarian murder: Man killed his ex-wife after bitter family dispute - tabloid

This article details the chilling background of a tragic 1995 murder in the Hungarian town of Jászberény, where a man confessed to strangling his ex-wife following a bitter, months-long domestic dispute. While the crime initially appeared to be a standard domestic violence case centered around property and child custody, investigators quickly uncovered that the couple's relationship had unraveled due to the woman's deep involvement in a secretive religious cult.

Identified by local media as a branch of the Children of God or the "Jesus Movement," the cult reportedly imposed extreme regulations on its members. These strict rules forbade relatives from joining together, mandated severe sexual restrictions outside the group, and allegedly drained the family's financial resources. Neighbors observed that the victim became increasingly isolated from her husband and children, ultimately prompting her husband to file for divorce and leave the family home.

The fatal confrontation occurred when the husband gave his ex-wife an ultimatum to vacate their formerly shared property. She refused, allegedly intending to move another cult member into the house. The ensuing physical struggle resulted in her death. Decades later, the case remains a notorious local legend due to its bizarre cult connections.

People: Charles Manson Death: What to Know

Infamous cult leader and convicted mass murderer Charles Manson’s death marked the end of one of the most notorious criminal chapters in American history. Manson, who orchestrated the horrific Tate-LaBianca murders in the summer of 1969, passed away from natural causes and complications related to colon cancer on November 19, 2017. He was 83 years old at the time of his death and had been hospitalized in Bakersfield, California, after being transferred from Corcoran State Prison.

Manson spent nearly five decades behind bars serving a life sentence. He was originally sentenced to death in 1971 for directing his followers—known collectively as the "Manson Family"—to murder seven people, including pregnant actress Sharon Tate. His sentence was automatically commuted to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole when the California Supreme Court temporarily abolished the state's death penalty in 1972.

Despite numerous parole hearings over the decades, Manson was consistently denied release due to a total lack of remorse, ongoing institutional disciplinary violations, and the sheer brutality of his crimes. His death definitively closed the book on the life of a charismatic but deeply manipulative figure who permanently scarred the American cultural psyche.
