LUCKNOW: Shankracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati has questioned the role and work of Lord Krishna-devoted organisation ISKCON, claiming it to be a front for money laundering. The Shankracharya who had earlier raised question regarding the growing number of Sai temples across the country said that ISKCON's claim of propogating Sanatan Dharma was questionable.

Speaking in Allahabad where he was taking part in the Magh Mela, Shankracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati said that ISKCON was being used to send money from India to foreign locations. He said that ISKCON was registered in the USA and money donated to it by Indians went to US. He said that the growing number of ISKCON temples in the country were alarming and if the organisation was serious about propogating Sanatan Dhamra it should have built temples in Chhattisgarh and Assam where there were less number of temples.

He said that the working of ISKCON raised many questions and their aim was not religion and spirituality but something else. He came out in favour of women empowerment and said that he had got many Godesses temples built in the country. But he said that those women who were demanding right to worship Shani Dev, should ask themselves whether they are true Hindus or not. He said that the RSS claimed to be working for Hinduism but thousands of RSS workers in Arunachal Pradesh ate beef.
