Brian Tamaki warns of 'signs of the end of time'

Destiny Church's Brian Tamaki makes a prophecy in 2003 that they will "rule the nation"

Destiny Church co-founder Brian Tamaki has sounded a warning following the devastation of Hurricane Harvey which left 50 people dead.

Bishop Tamaki took to social media to warn followers of signs of the end of time.

"Earthquakes. Floods..Famines..Diseases..Wars and widespread deception are just few of the end time signs," he tweeted on August 30.

"The end comes when Kingdom is preached."

Floods from Hurricane Harvey has displaced tens of thousands of people and destroyed tens of thousands of homes across the US.

Tamaki's message also comes as tensions between the US and North Korea heat up with the rogue state's leader Kim Jong-Un threatening the "greatest disaster" against the US.

In the middle of New Zealand's election campaign, Tamaki also took the opportunity to take a swipe at politics, saying "Politics is the most devious, deceptive and crass activity in society.

"It's all over TV, has our money and rules our lives."

His anti-political views were aired on Twitter despite Destiny Church previously being linked to Destiny New Zealand - a political party formed in 2003.

The party ran candidates in most electorates in the 2005 general election but garnered less than 1 percent of the vote - well short of the 5 percent threshold required to enter Parliament without winning an electorate seat.

In 2004 Tamaki featured on a DVD titled "A Nation Under Siege", decrying what he sees as four problems with New Zealand society: "a Government gone evil, a radical homosexual agenda, the media: 'a modern day witchcraft' and 'the retreat of religion in New Zealand'".

Last year Tamaki blamed earthquakes on gays, sinners and murderers.

He also blamed a gay priest and the people of Christchurch for the devastating earthquakes that hit Canterbury in 2010 and 2011 which killed 185 people.

"The land actually speaks to God. Out of the soil ... Abel's blood spoke to God from a murder. The earth can speak. Leviticus says that the earth convulses under the weight of certain human sin.

"It spews itself up after a while - that's natural disasters. Because nature was never created to carry the bondage of our iniquity," Tamaki said.
