CLEARWATER, Fla., Oct. 22, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Scientology Public Information Center hosted a reception and tour for members of the hospitality industry at the newly opened Information Center, and six humanitarian program centers sponsored by the Church of Scientology.
The guests attending represented local hotels including Comfort Suites, Hyatt Regency Clearwater, East Shore Resort and Florida Beach Rentals. Hors d’ oeuvres and beverages followed by two brief video presentations covering basic concepts of Scientology. The center has four interactive displays, with close to 300 videos on Dianetics and Scientology tenets, Churches around the world, the Church’s humanitarian programs and Scientology’s founder, Mr. L. Ron Hubbard.
After the reception the tour proceeded to the six adjacent humanitarian program centers, which are open to the public and each of which are dedicated to addressing specific social ills in the society: drug abuse, human rights violations, mental health advocacy, criminal rehabilitation and character building education.
One attendee commented, “I am so happy that I came. I’ve always been curious about Scientology and could not find the true data about Scientology before. It is good that this is here.” Another guest stated, “I had no idea you provided so much information to help people. It’s impressive.”
The Scientology Public Information Center offers tours and receptions to the community, commercial and civic associations, and makes its conference room available to social, civic and nonprofit groups.
