Lane Admiraal, 23-years-old and on a three-week leave from his post in the Navy, attempts to reunite with his estranged family, members of a cult called The Exclusive Brethren. On a lengthy road trip to uncover the secrets of his family's whereabouts, he visits landmarks from his past and meets other former cult members who share their experiences, strength, and hope of survival.
