As the teachers’ strike comes to an end with children ready to resume their studies, Kiambu County Education Chief Officer Ann Gichohi has called on school children not to be initiated into devil worshipping.

Gichohi said that the current generation is fond of indulging into sinful acts.

Speaking in Thika Town on Saturday, the CO said devil worshipping is gaining popularity among the youth and mostly school children.

She said cases of devil worshipping have been reported in the schools in the county before and it was good to caution the children before they are lured into the same.

Gichohi said parents should work closely with the teachers to ensure they monitor the children during school time as children are everybody’s responsibility.

She said fake clergymen had emerged pretending to serve God only to lure members of the public into joining cults.

She called on leaders to sensitise youth in their areas of jurisdiction on religion and advise them to follow the right church and not to be fooled by fake clergymen urging them to pray for the nation to untangle it from devil worshippers who are targeting children and youth in the name of gaining riches and power.
